SWOT Analysis
Knife Throw
Strength: The footage cut together very well and worked just as planned. The effects were accurate and correctly placed into the scene without looking too unrealistic.
Weaknesses: The footage did not look completely realistic and the props also looked fake. The acting was not great which didn't help either.
Opportunities: Filming using fake knifes was much safer then using real ones and was also much cheaper and easy to use. By adding the effects in editing we were able to be more creative with the effects we could add without sacrificing too much of the realism, it was also much cheaper and easier tho achieve the effects.
Threats: The 'actors' still could have been injured even when using a fake knife as there was still the chance of it accidentally being throws and hitting another person. Someone could also have been injured when they had to fall back into the chair as they could have injured them self by falling and missing the chair.
Miniatures
Strengths: The production cost was very cheap as the cheap toys were inexpensive, they were also much easier to use then real construction vehicle would have been to use.
Weaknesses
Weaknesses: The use of fake vehicles did make the scene look much more fake as it was clear they were not the real thing. Having to act from a long distance away but still react to the objects closer to frame made the scene look out of since and unrealistic.
Opportunities: Filming with minitures saved a lot of time allowing us to achieve he shot much faster and much cheaper then we otherwise would have done if we used the real things.
Threats: The only threat with using minitures is that the actor could have injured them self when pretending to fall over when interacting with the model trucks.
Snow Walk
Strength: The scene composited together very well giving a good sense of depth to the scene. The visual and audio effects also worked very well with the scene.
Weaknesses: I didn't have time to take out the audio from the clip so there is some background noice that was not suppose to be in the final edit. The green screen lighting was not good which ment that there was a visible mark that we could no colour key out. The acting was also not very realistic which in turn made the scene look less realistic.
Opportunity: By filming using a green screen and creating the location with mulitple layers alowed us to create a scene that it a snowy environment much cheaper then going to location would be while still having decent effects and depth to the shot.
Threats: The only threat would be the possibility of the actor tripping on the green screen or having the green screen fall down on them.
